Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens offers a wide variety of employment opportunities: from being a full- or part-time zoo keeper, assisting guests in the gift shop, to piloting a catamaran through islands of monkeys, and more. Position openings vary and so we keep applications and resumes on file for when there is an opening.

Current Positions Accepting Applications:

Primate Expedition Cruise Guide
This position will work under the direction of the Park Services Manager. The Expedition Guide must possess the ability to learn how to navigate a 32ft catamaran through a primate inhabited island system, narrating a 20 minute tour offering insight into primate behavior and conservation. This person must be comfortable dealing with the general public and able to communicate in a personable way to large audiences. The guide is required to interact with individual guests as well, and answer animal and nature related questions. Personal knowledge of animals, especially primates is a definite plus but not a requirement. Prior boating experience is preferred.

The Expedition Guide's duties include but are not limited to:

•  Ability to work as a team player with other guides and zoo personnel and to appreciate the need for all to maintain cleanliness of the zoo grounds and marine facilities.

•  Acting as a source of information for guests in relation to zoo activities.

•  Monitoring for inappropriate guest behavior to protect the park and animals.

•  Providing audience control and monitoring shows with carnivores and venomous snakes to ensure the safety of guests and animal handlers.

•  The use of a leaf blower to clean park entrance, show areas, and sidewalks.

•  Cleaning of dock area, including boats.

•  Trash pick-up throughout zoo grounds.

The Expedition Guide position can be full or part-time. The hours are 8:30AM-5PM, or 9AM-5:30PM. Weekend hours are typically required.

This position requires a flexible work schedule and the ability to work weekends and some holidays if needed.

A recent tetanus shot and drug screening are required prior to acceptance. EOE. Drug free workplace. Benefits package.
