NWF Certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat at Naples Zoo

While native wildlife use all parts of Naples Zoo as a haven, the Zoo also set aside a portion of the grounds to create a Backyard Wildlife Habitat™ (BWH) and had it certified by the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). The site has all four elements required by certified sites including food, water, cover, and places to raise young. The zoo's site is frequently undergoing transformations as we develop the habitat.

Feed the fish in the pool. And look in the trees for a variety of bird life. Enjoy watching wild butterflies flit between flowers. Naples Zoo is also a member of the Butterfly Conservation Initiative to support their survival.

Beyond helping wildlife here, the Zoo provides this resource of inspiring ideas for zoo guests and members to create their own Backyard Wildlife Habitats.
