Gardens: The ZOO in Naples is accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium
Association (AZA). This is the premier zoo organization and the highest
accreditation available to zoos. With its more than 200 accredited members
like San Diego Zoo and Bronx Zoo, AZA is a leader in global wildlife
conservation and your link to helping animals in their native habitats.
Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance
that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent
care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for
all living things. For more information visit www.aza.org.
Conservation Impact
Over 134 million people visit AZA accredited zoos and aquariums every
year and by doing so they are helping to support the urgent conservation
work these organizations are doing every day locally, nationally and
internationally. On average, AZA members annually participate
in over 2,000 conservation projects including in about 100 countries. AZA member institutions also published
over a thousand books, book chapters, journal articles, conference proceedings
papers, posters and theses or dissertations on wildlife management and
biology.
Locally, Caribbean Gardens supports a diversity of conservation projects
from local work with the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge and
the Native Orchid Restoration Project to ocelots in Brazil and clouded
leopards in Thailand and many
more.
